Dental Work

Spent a couple of hours this afternoon at the dentist getting a temporary crown put on one of my lower molars.  Go back next week for part 2, when the permanent crown will be attached after being made from the molds they made today.  You can read about the process here, if you are so inclined.  Relatively painless, except for the needle at the beginning and the soreness in your jaw afterwards after sitting in the chair for two hours with your jaw wide open.  Well, okay, the needle didn't really hurt either, it's just the whole idea of getting a long, sharp needle jabbed into my gums that pains me.  Luckily, there won't be any freezing involved when I go back next week.
Not this kind of crown, silly!
Feeling quite hungry at the moment but waiting for the freezing to wear off a little bit more, there's nothing quite like trying to eat or drink when your mouth is still frozen for making a mess, is there?  Luckily, the freezing in my tongue didn't last too long, I hate that sensation!

A trip to the dentist always makes me think of that sketch by Bill Cosby about going to the dentist.  My favourite part is when he's trying to tell the dentist there's smoke coming out his mouth.  It's so true!

"I hope you are satisfied" after you watch this! :)

Hehehe, that sketch is awesome! Jokes can be a great source of comfort during trips to the dentist as they lighten up the mood. Anyway, here's to a relatively pain-free dental experience next time!
