Journal Junkies May 2014

The themes for this month's gathering were (a) accessories or (b) the sun. The optional supply item was metal embellishments. I chose to go with option (b), using this Victor Hugo quote from his book, Les Miserables: "Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise." 

I used random papers for the background, covered in Payne's gray and just a little bit of bone black paint. The sun was made with a stencil and modelling paste, then painted and embellished with brass washers.
