Democracy in action
Reveals the divide.

Whatever your opinion on whether or not Scotland should stay part of Great Britain or be an independent nation, you have to admire the democratic process in action. To my knowledge, there has been little or no violence associated with this referendum. No one has died, no blood has been spilled, people visited the polling stations without fear of intimidation or recrimination. It is a pity the same cannot be said for all countries around the world who wish to have a voice in their own destiny.

important event haiku...even in the USA many of us are awaiting the voting results. all we've heard is that is too close to call- practically unheard of in our political scene.
I so long for our world to listen to each other... to find ways to resolve differences in ways that are not violent... to find a new way to make history... like in your haiku.
dear cynthia,
i love your honoring of life events and i stand in the light of lea's hopes too. i am ready for the history of love.

This makes for an interesting haiku and yes we all can make a difference right down to our own sharing of haiku-ing love...x

Speaking out and listening are key to peaceful resolution… you are so right Cynthia… I share your sentiments… if only it were so throughout the world.
I for one am glad they remain united. Although I do realize that changes do happen and we must learn to adapt. Nice haiku.
Well done, have a good weekend
Much love...
The vote seems to have come off quite peacefully, despite differences of opinion.

Yes ... an important day it was.
It was an historic day, that's for sure. And the story is not over yet.
