Whatever your opinion on whether or not Scotland should stay part of Great Britain or be an independent nation, you have to admire the democratic process in action. To my knowledge, there has been little or no violence associated with this referendum. No one has died, no blood has been spilled, people visited the polling stations without fear of intimidation or recrimination. It is a pity the same cannot be said for all countries around the world who wish to have a voice in their own destiny.

important event haiku...even in the USA many of us are awaiting the voting results. all we've heard is that is too close to call- practically unheard of in our political scene.
I so long for our world to listen to each other... to find ways to resolve differences in ways that are not violent... to find a new way to make history... like in your haiku.
