Haiku My Heart: Hello Summer!

Summer arrives, full
of promise, sparkling with light,
hearts embrace the warmth.

At long last, summer arrives tomorrow at 6:51 a.m.!  The solstice is always a bittersweet time for me. In the back of my mind, I know it means the days will now start getting shorter, only by a minute or two every day, but still...every lost minute of sunlight means we're inching closer to another season of winter.

Never mind.  I'm not going to think about that right now. I'm going to just soak it in, embrace the arrival of the summer of 2014 and jump in with both feet!

You will find more Haiku My Heart gifts to enjoy at recuerda_mi_corazon.

YES to jumping in with both feet! your photograph really tugs at my heart. summer memories in the family cabin on a lake. something about these older docks that reach like fingers into the heart of summer life.
enjoy every light filled day friend....

I feel the same way... the longest day of the year heralds that tipping point... I want to just soak up this warmth and light, right into my bones... Thank you for this lovely celebration of the summer solstice!

I hope our sky brightens tomorrow so I can enjoy the full extent of summer solstice! I wouldn't mind sitting on the end of this pier, perhaps being able to put my feet in the water.

Happy Summer to you. I hear cicada song, and I thought they were sleeping for 17 more years. Guess they want to enjoy summer too.

What would we do without summer? (Well, some of us desert dwellers would love to find out!)
